thanks for the tip on the seaming with a single-ply. that's such a simple fix. gotta love it.

I keep thinking I should toss the old diaries, too - would be a great embarrassment to have them found (or even for me to reread in the privacy of a locked room). You are brave! Have fun with the rest of packing, hope you have a smooth move!

Genius! Makes perfect sense, and I never would have thought of it. When Marla is finished, I will be encountering exactly that problem with the single plied yarn.

Detaching from "stuff" is a never-ending process. When I forget what the significance of the memento is, out it goes. And yes, the sheer presence of it in my life means less and less when I don't look at it for 15 years at a time. It, like many things, is a process.

You're doing great finishing things up. You, and moving, have motivated me to finish up some things. I figure it'll be easier to move them if they're in one piece and done. It feels so good! I have soo much stuff saved up. I was never good at keeping a diary either haha.
