Manos hat

Manos hat

I knit this hat as a gift from one skein of Manos del Uruguay #113 on US 8 needles, to go with a pair of thrummed mittens.

The pattern is my own, and is as follows: CO 90 st, and join to knit in the round. K2, P3 for 7" of ribbing, then switch to stockinette stitch for 6 rounds. Next round K8, K2tog and repeat to end of round. Next round K all st. Next round K7, K2tog and repeat to end of round. Next round K all stitches. Repeat decreases every other round, decreasing the number of knit stitches by one each time. When only 10 stitches remain, thread tail through all stitches and pull tight. Fits most adult heads. :)
